Bob Kohut joined the Ideal Contracting team in September 2004, where he rose to his current position of Vice President of Estimating and Business Development. Bob has successfully delivered numerous projects for clients such as General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford Health System, Detroit Medical Center, The Detroit Zoo as well as Ford Field and Comerica Park. Bob, a graduate of Lawrence Tech University, is a licensed Professional Engineer and Licensed Builder; OSHA certified and has completed training courses through the Tuck Executive Education program at Dartmouth College.
After many devoted and successful years at Ideal Contracting, Bob will no longer need to set his alarm clock for 5 am. His plans after retirement include being a first time Grandpa in July 2015, tackling a lengthy “Honey-do” list and overall enjoying the time off. Bob has been married for 42 years to his wife Elaine, and has two children, Lauren and Ryan. In his spare time he enjoys golfing (hoping to soon break 100 for the first time), making decorative holiday gift logs, photography/photo editing, home improvement projects and watching Sci-Fi programs. When asked what made Ideal Contracting so special Bob said, “I’ve worked at a lot of great companies, but Ideal’s family environment and commitment to the local community are like no others. I am fortunate to be able to end my career at Ideal. I’ve made amazing friendships at Ideal and Barton Malow, and they are ones that I hope will last”.
Bob may the years ahead of you be happy ones – Happy Retirement!
