April was Distracted Driving Awareness Month and we are asking everyone to take the pledge to put the phone away and drive without distractions.
Ideal has partnered with Steve Kiefer, of General Motors, to create awareness for this epidemic. If you are not familiar with his story and the impact distracted driving has had on his family’s life, please watch the tribute story about Steve’s son, Mitchel, who lost his life last fall to a fatal car accident caused by a distracted driver.
If you would like to know more about the foundation, Steve Kiefer and his family have started the Mitchel Keifer Foundation. Ideal and Steve’s team at GM are currently working on ways to get this message across to all high schools in the Metro Detroit area, starting with Detroit Cristo Rey High School.
For the first time in nearly a decade, the National Safety Council estimates that as many as 40,000 people died in motor vehicle crashes in 2016. That marks a 6% increase over 2015 and a 14% increase over 2014 – the most dramatic two-year escalation in 53 years!
Let’s all help to spread the message… “Eyes On The Road, Hands On The Wheel.”
