Scarcyny Park & Garden celebrated its 2nd Annual Green Halloween on Saturday, October 24. Linda Rhodes and Yesenia Ramos from Ideal Contracting arrived early in the morning along with volunteers to set up an exciting day for the neighborhood children. Stations were set up for kids to paint a pumpkin, make Halloween masks and paint Halloween trick-or-trick bags. The event began at noon after BASF announced their grant program to Cadillac Urban Gardens and SDEV for their Rain Recovery Solar Power Irrigation System Program, which will commence this winter and spring by community robotics teams. The Green Halloween ended with warm chili and hot dogs made by Linda Rhodes and a piñata!
Thank you to Linda Rhodes, Frank Venegas, BASF, SDEV, Honey Bee Market La Colmena, and Volunteers for being great supporters and friends to the Southwest Detroit neighborhood and thanks to all the families that came to enjoy all the wonderful treats!
