SDEV’s mission is to improve Southwest Detroit. Together with it’s residents, community organizations, government agencies, schools, businesses, and industry to combat environmental issues, including: indoor and outdoor air quality, blight, and incompatible land use.
Detroit Cristo Rey High School provides excellent college-preparatory Catholic high school education to students from economically disadvantaged families in Detroit. They prepare their students for a successful career through its work study program where students learn responsibility, determination, and respect for self and others.

The Community Health and Social Services (CHASS) Center, Inc. is a community-based, not-for-profit organization formed to develop, promote, and provide comprehensive, accessible, and affordable quality primary health care and support to all residents – with emphasis on the undeserved African American and Latino populations.
Clark Park Coalition, a partner of the Detroit Recreational Department, provides recreational, educational, social, and mentoring programs for Southwest Detroit families. The programs aim to develop youth into responsible, self-confident adults.
The Southwest Detroit Business Association assists in supporting the vision of a healthy, vibrant community for southwest Detroit. They work with investors, entrepreneurs, customers, and neighbors to capitalize on Southwest Detroit’s competitive advantage.
